Baraka is a local band playing original tunes, inspired by the world, and made in London. Led by Matthew Lucas on keyboard and James Whittington on trumpet, Baraka has a growing collection of original tunes and improvisations with distinctive Afro-Latin sounds.

Baraka will be performing music from their latest EP, Children of the Sun, which was released in January 2019, along with tunes from their debut 2016 album, Yebo.

Baraka’s music blends jazz with global grooves inspired by Caribbean calypso, South African swing, and heartfelt improvisations. Playing with Matthew and James are Mao Yamada on bass, Gary Williams on drums and Linus Bewley on saxophone.
