Grasshopper Festival is back! This May half term a crop of critically acclaimed family theatre makers will dig in at Omnibus Theatre for a wild celebration of nature and creativity.

Kick off the best summer ever with our magical medley of events for all ages, including arts, crafts and gardening workshops. Catch everything from spellbinding storytelling and striking shadow play to helpful chickens and dancing cats.

Golden Toad Theatre launch the festival with Errol’s Garden an interactive musical filled with catchy songs, humour and imagination. Join Errol and his sister Tia as they turn a neglected rooftop space into a community garden, all the while dealing with a mysterious neighbour and some destructive snails…

Acclaimed children’s author Dianne Hofmeyr (Zeraffa Giraffa, The Magic Bojabi Tree) returns to Clapham with a reading of her story Paris Cat, the tale of one fancy-footed feline’s rise to fame. Stick around afterwards for a dance party and the chance to create your own cat outfits with paper, fabric, sequins and feathers!

Last of all, RipStop Theatre’s modern twist on Jack and the Beanstalk celebrates all things that grow tall and dream big, brought to life with their trademark shadow theatre. Susannah and her Sunflower is a gentle and enchanting adventure with lonely giants, helpful chickens and some particularly nosy snails.
