About Us

Theatre games, acting exercises, character development, script work, devising – our youth theatre programme is jam-packed, and a lot of fun! Our young people are encouraged to develop creativity, confidence and teamwork, as well as to explore identity through self-expression. We teach more than just performing skills. At Actors Alive, students will learn what it takes to be an actor, director, designer or technician. Creating performances from scratch, all efforts go towards our annual production in the Summer Term.

“It is a fantastic way for the children to develop their imagination. What I like most about it is that it not only develops acting skills, but also shows children that there are many different ways of being creative in theatre. Fantastic!”

“Actors Alive has been very stimulating, built confidence and been very well taught.”

“It has had a huge impact. It has boosted my son’s confidence, he is more eager to participate in class and talk in public.”

We are delighted to say that Actors Alive has been accepted onto the 2016 Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme!

Jack Petchey Achievement Award

From January 2016 Actors Alive will participate in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme.

The Jack Petchey Foundation makes grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25.

Each term one Actors Alive student aged 11+ will be nominated by peers, parents and staff to win a grant of £200 that will go towards resources that will benefit the group – such as technical equipment for a production, or a visit from a specialist drama instructor.

As well as receiving a framed badge, certificate and membership for the JFP Achievers community, winners will have the opportunity to attend a local celebration ceremony at which they will be congratulated for their achievement onstage in front of friends and family.

Find out more about the scheme here.
