Cellist Abi Hyde-Smith and pianist Jocelyn Freeman perform some of Shostakovich's finest chamber music to mark fifty years since the composer's death. This programme also includes a new commission from Peter Walton, who takes inspiration from Shostakovich.

This musical treat has been carefully crafted to mark fifty years since the death of composer, Shostakovich with performances of some of his finest chamber music from cellist Abi Hyde-Smith and pianist Jocelyn Freeman.

Following the success of their debut album together, Hyde-Smith and Freeman collaborate together again with an exciting programme to include Shostakovich’s Cello Sonata and a new commission from composer Peter Walton, who took Shostakovich’s themes as his inspiration.
