George Crowley is a saxophonist, clarinettist, composer and promoter based in London. Since his arrival in the capital in 2007, Crowley has steadily established himself as a key player within the city’s burgeoning creative jazz and improv scene, and increasingly well known further afield, performing across the UK and Europe.
“A fine young composer/player who knows where the music has been and where he’s headed with it.”
The Guardian
As a performer he is active across a range of styles from contemporary showstoppers Melt Yourself Down and Yazz Ahmed, to experimental improv and the jazz traditions.
“Rarely does a player so young debut with such a fully rounded tone and range of writing skills, so keep a keen ear out for Crowley: the future could yet be his.”
Jazzwise Magazine
This new trio featuring Rob Luft and Tim Giles, playing music from a forthcoming album, focuses on George’s broad view of what jazz can be, featuring melodic writing, ambient textures and interactive group improv as well as grooves from an assortment of angles, also augmenting his palette with the use of electronics effects.
This performance will take place with a live audience at Omnibus Theatre.
