ENTWINED

PRESENTED BY GEORGE RENNIE
Rehearsed reading: A supernatural family drama about sleepwalking, spirits and sexual identity, loosely based on Jekyll and Hyde.

Following an R&D and sharing with Omnibus Theatre’s Engine Room scheme, Entwined returns with a longer rehearsed reading.

Ever woken in the night not knowing where you were?

Ever felt haunted by the shadow of your better self?

Jay hadn’t. Not until his twin brother started coming back. And Freddie didn’t just want to live again. He wanted to dance.

Blending Jekyll and Hyde with modern ennui, Entwined is a supernatural family drama about sleepwalking, spirits and sexual identity.

Exploring mental health and strained relationships, this contemporary ghost story will show how conflicting beliefs about what’s real come up against Jay’s need to keep his life on the straight and narrow, asking what it means to be truly alive in the face of grief.

‘A playful, thought-provoking shake-up to our relationship with work and, most crucially, ourselves.’ ★★★★ fringebiscuit on Hamstrung at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024
