EVERY ONLY GOD

Rehearsed Reading

Announcement Productions and MOMMO present

A man is missing on an island off the coast of Ireland. And the unsuccessful search for him is coming to an end. Prompting the superintendent of the police station, who is also the man’s former wife, to summon his current partner. They must come up with a new lead – even a white lie – now, tonight, to keep the search party looking for him. Or face ending the search and accepting he’s gone forever. But then, who is this man? And is he really what they’re searching for?

This R&D reading is for the follow up show to Blue Thunder, which completely sold out its three week run at the 2019 Vault Festival and won the Innovation Award.

Padraic Walsh (writer) is a playwright, screenwriter and fiction writer. He won the Innovation Award at the VAULT Awards in 2019, the Walter Swan Trust Playwriting Award in 2015, and was shortlisted for Best Original Audio Drama at the 2018 BBC Audio Drama Awards. He was 2017-2018 Writer on Attachment with the Oxford Playhouse.

Cathal Cleary (director) is an award winning theatre director based in London. He has directed for The Abbey (Ireland’s National Theatre), Young Vic, Druid Theatre, Print Room and Papatango amongst others. Productions he has directed have toured to theatres across Ireland and the UK including Sheffield Crucible, Birmingham Rep, Glasgow Tron, Lyric Belfast and Cork Everyman.

PRAISE FOR BLUE THUNDER

“Padraic Walsh’s engrossing miniature…the audience is eyeball to eyeball with the actors.” Lyn Gardner, Stagedoor

“It requires absolutely spot on performances, not a blink out of place, and it delivers just that in a nuanced production by Cathal Cleary.” Lyn Gardner, Stagedoor
