IN THE LAND OF EAGLES

PRESENTED BY NATALIE ALLISON PRODUCTIONS & ALEX REYNOLDS
Her and Grandpa are different and not the same. She's got MySpace, he's got his bench by the back gate. That's until grandpa asks to go home. But Albania is far. He can't venture there alone.

Her and Grandpa are different and not the same. She’s got MySpace, he’s got his bench by the back gate. When Grandpa asks to go home, he doesn’t mean his semi-detached down the road. Albania is far and he can’t venture there alone. By turns unexpected and fantastical, they soon find themselves journeying into the heart of a place unknown. Inspired by true events, In the Land of Eagles uncovers how far we will go to make amends for the mistakes of our past.

In the Land of Eagles will premiere at Pleasance Courtyard (Baby Grand), 15:00, 30th July – 25th Aug and is a solo Fringe debut for writer / performer Alex Reynolds and up-and-coming director Martha Geelan. A writer and performer based in London, Reynolds has performed at the Almeida Theatre, Theatre 503, Southwark Playhouse, Arcola and The Pleasance. (For previous work: Lynn Gardner “a winning performance”, The Stage “astonishing in the title role”). While Martha Geelan has had a storied induction to London theatre, working as associate director with Patrick Marber (The Producers, 2024/25), Guy Masterson (The Shark is Broken, 2022), and Sir Trevor Nunn (Identical, 2022).

The team are joined by “prolific” (Evening Standard) sound designer and composer Nicola T Chang (How I Learnt to SwimThe SwellFor Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy).

Natalie Allison is an award nominated producer working across theatre, dance and comedy, presenting work at Edfringe for over 10 years. Natalie’s work has been featured at Barbican, The Royal Opera House, V&A, Arts Theatre West End, Hackney Empire and Pleasance, amongst other leading venues regionally.
