JINGLE STREET

PRESENTED BY CHORDSTRUCK THEATRE
A hotshot ad writer wakes up to discover he can only speak in jingles. Can he escape the curse?

Ad writer Colin Hollins is rich, successful and miserable. One day he wakes up to find he can only speak in TV jingles. Desperate to lift the curse, he meets Jasmine, an idealistic activist who seems to have a cure. The only trouble is: she finds him a repugnant sellout.

Can he change for her, or is he doomed to a life of lonely pessimism and half-baked jingles?

In the midst of Colin’s woes, his boss Holofernes is in trouble. He made a pact at school to marry a girl if they were both still single at thirty. And worse, they pinkie swore. The impending deadline leaves Holofernes frantically trying to marry anybody else, while asking big questions about the value of his pinkie finger.

Fusing Mad Men with Mamma Mia, Jingle Street is magical new musical comedy with lyrics by Joe Venable, writer of On Your Bike(winner of Best Musical at the 2021 Edinburgh Fringe) and music by Georgia Rawlins, composer of Astrid (longlisted for the Stiles & Drewe New Mentorship Award 2021), Jingle Street is a toe-tapping rollercoaster taking a sideways look at how we communicate in a world saturated with ads.

On Your Bike (Joe Venable’s last show):
