THIS IS NOT PATRIARCHY

PRESENTED BY JULIA TESTAS + PERFORMERS
This is not patriarchy. Is it? René Magritte would (dis)agree.

We are at a NYE party in 2088. What would you imagine in 2089? Let’s leave AI aside for a second. How are we, human beings? How are we relating to each other? What are our motivations and foundations to dream?

This work in progress is a live installation – a live music dance-theatre show to celebrate the non-patriarchal reflections in the near future. This future mirrors different embodiments of power relations. The audience rewinds and reassess the time when Patriarchy & Decolonisation were under discussion in the early 2000s.

It is a lively party and you are invited to witness it: on stage people celebrate, sing, dance, and bend their spirit to reach the other around an interactive sculpture.

This is not patriarchy – is it?

This daring new show warmly welcomes the audience to question their sense of belonging through surrealism and to consider the strange evolution of a flat image that is seen from a 2D perspective, becoming 3D, as a metaphor.

You will experience various emotional tones from fun, joy, sophisticated to serious explorations. There will be monologues, solos, duets, live music, juxtaposition of live images crosses and traverses the spaces. The audience is invited to a safe space to reflect upon their own power relations in the present moment, to consider where they come from and where they are leading to.
