ENGINE ROOM: NEXT PAGE SEASON

PRESENTED BY OMNIBUS THEATRE
A season of plays in development from brilliant new writers

2 – 11 January 2026

Engine Room : Next Page is a season of rehearsed readings, staged for a public audience, allowing writers to share their work and receive crucial feedback to help the development of their work.
Writers are invited to submit a play they’re currently working on to be a part of the season. Successful writers are able to share their work, invite industry professionals and gather feedback from friends and family to then progress their work onto the next stage.
This is not a season of professionally produced work, therefore the performances are not judged or reviewed. Instead, it offers the writer the chance to test out their work and be inspired by what they learn without the fear of judgement.
Share your work without the fear of failure!
Writers with work as part of the Season will also be invited to a Free workshop, facilitated by a professional playwright. Date tbc.

HOW IT WORKS…
  • Submissions for Next Page Season close at 10:00 on 17th October.
  • Readings will take place between 2nd – 11th January. These will be held at 19:00 and 20:30 between Monday-Saturday, and 16:00 and 17:30 on a Sunday.
  • Performance slots are 60 minutes and no more. If your script runs over an hour, you are still invited to submit your play but are only able to share 60 minutes of it (for example, the first half).
