1889 Circle
In 1889, Clapham Library was opened – a public space for discovery, learning and storytelling. 136 years later, Clapham Library has moved but this beautiful redbrick building remains a space for the very same thing.
Since 1889, this beautiful redbrick building has been a space for discovery, learning and storytelling. In 2013, after a seven-year campaign, it became Omnibus Theatre—your creative home.
Thanks to our 1889 Circle, we refurbished the ground floor in 2019, invested in accessible programming, and became the only Fringe Theatre with royal patronage from the Duke of Edinburgh. But our 136-year-old building needs love.
We're relaunching the 1889 Circle to open up the foyer, add soundproofing for more simultaneous events, and refurbish the loos. Help us keep this cultural lifeline thriving!
