Inspired by the Oscar-winning 1950 film All About Eve, written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and starring Bette Davis, this new live drawing performance offers a bold, alternative reflection on fame, age and love.
In this one-woman show, award-winning filmmaker and performer Lisa Gornick takes one of her favourite films as a starting point for a playful re-imagining. Embodying all the characters, she will create her own response to this classic film
Using pen, pastel, watercolour, voice and music, Gornick builds a hand-made “DIY cinema” live on stage — stripping back the glamour to reveal the raw sketch beneath.
Set against the backdrop of 1950s expectations — when success and fulfilment for women were defined by marriage — The Many Faces of Eve revisits and redraws those narratives with wit, alternative viewpoints and a bold new enquiry.
