On 16th March we made the difficult decision to close our doors and postpone all scheduled performances.
This upcoming season looked set to be one of our best yet, jam packed with dynamic work from some of the most exciting artists and companies. We are gutted that these brilliant shows will have to wait to be seen.
Summer at Omnibus is all about the festivals, four of them: 96 Festival, our annual celebration of queerness and theatre; Edinburgh Previews, your chance to get one jump ahead of the Fringe; Out of the Wings, putting the spotlight on theatre from the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world; and Grasshopper Festival, a crop of critically-acclaimed family theatre makers digging in at Omnibus over the May half term.
Beyond the festivals, we were excited to see Tangle Theatre’s radical reinvention of Ben Jonson’s classic Volpone, The Thelma’s VAULT Festival sell-out Ladykiller, Peter Gill’s poetic masterpiece Small Change and many more.
Omnibus Theatre Online gave us the opportunity to platform some of our Summer artists digitally over the lockdown period, head here to check out the great content now streaming →
