BRIEF PLAY ABOUT RAGE

PRESENTED BY DEANE McELREE
It’s just one evening. How unbearable could a house guest possibly be?

Nell is one of Val’s oldest friends. She’s also the worst guest you can possibly imagine.

When Nell comes to visit, she brings bizarre confrontations, backhanded compliments and obscene anecdotes… all of which begin to unravel Val and her partner Hugh’s carefully maintained peace.
But Val and Hugh have been keeping secrets of their own.
Val has never stated the resentment she feels towards Nell, and has hidden parts of her past from Hugh. Nell, who has never been treated well by polite society, intends to blow the whole fiasco wide open.
Brief Play About Rage is an absurd comedy, set over one excruciating evening, about the chaos that ensues when we say what we really mean.

Nominated for Best New Play and Best Lead Performance at the Fringe Theatre Awards 2025/2026.

Nominated for Best of Camden Fringe at Everything Theatre’s Etties awards 2025.
