ARGOS ARCHIVES

PRESENTED BY FUTURES THEATRE
BY SABRINA MAHFOUZ WITH THRIVE CREATIVES
"I always thought you named me after your favourite shop, Argos. Cos it sees what everyone needs and gives them a reference to get it."

Woman is turning 30. She’s chatty, loves Greek myths and has decided to make her son proud by chasing down her dream job at Argos. After all, life’s full of deceptive, nonsensical rules, but at least there’s structure in the annual catalogue. But she hasn’t got the right qualifications, and she can’t sit still…

Enter friends Archives and Argos. One loves to be organised, the other is a mythical 100 eyed-all-seeing giant. Together they dive into the Argos Catalogues from Skaletrix to Tamagotchis to Elizabeth Duke jewellery, uncovering memories Woman would rather forget and celebrating what makes her unique.

From award-winning writer Sabrina Mahfouz and Futures Theatre, Argos Archives is an inclusive experience for both neurodivergent and neurotypical audiences. Join us for a nostalgic celebration of neurodivergent self-discovery, led by a majority neurodivergent cast and creative team.

This is a neurodivergent friendly production.

  • All performances are relaxed, welcoming audience noise and movement.
  • Generous re-entry policy.
  • Thoughtful adjustments to the tone and intensity of technical elements.
  • Access documentation, including a visual story and extended content warnings, will be available following the first performance week.
  • Access consultants have been involved throughout the creative process.
  • Developed in collaboration with young neurodivergent women.

Sabrina Mahfouz is a British-Egyptian poet and playwright recognised for her significant contributions to theatre and literature, including the Westminster Prize for New Playwrights and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018. Alongside Hollie McNish, she penned the 5-star-rated Offside for Futures Theatre, praised as a “tremendous three-hander” (Scotsman).

Futures Theatre is a registered charity, amplifying women’s and non-binary individuals’ voices through new writing productions, podcasts and engagement.
