William Ellis is an internationally renowned music photographer, his contribution to the culture was recognised by the American Jazz museum, Kansas City Mo when he was invited to present the inaugural international exhibition in 2005.

His work is held in private and public collections around the world including those of The National Portrait Gallery, London, The American Jazz Museum, Kansas City MO, and the ARChive of Contemporary Music in New York.

Ellis’ insightful portraits, telling performance and exquisite still life images play their part in creating the visual heritage of today’s international music scene.
Photographs include Dizzy Gillespie, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nancy Wilson, Omara Portuondo, Kurt Elling, Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller – and a powerful portrayal of a leader of many of the key developments in the world of jazz – Miles Davis.
