THE MUMMY, OR; THE ELIXIR OF LIFE AND THE GREEN HOUSE

PRESENTED BY PENNY BLOOD RADIO THEATRE
Thrills & laughs as our 1940’s-style “Radio Theatre” presents a comic romance and a spooky mystery.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween? Join us at the Omnibus Theatre for some supernatural entertainment and enjoy laughs and thrills with our 1940’s style “Radio Theatre.”

The evening opens with our comic romance, The Mummy; or, the Elixir of Life, which offers a fresh take on the old story: boy meets girl, father meets mummy, and mummy meets…well, you get the idea! Written by Arnold Anthony Schmidt and based on an 1833 play by William Bayle Bernard, the story features a “New Woman” heroine, her dashing lover, and their devoted friend, a thespian who really brings a role to life!

Will love triumph in the face of a hypochondriacal father and curmudgeonly romantic rival? Join us and find out!

Next, The Green House presents a cast of quirky characters from a real estate agency specialising in haunted houses who solve a spooky mystery.

With inebriated ghosts and an unpunished murderer, no wonder property prices in this part of town have become so unpredictable! Julia Warren’s adaptation of Allen Upward 1905 tale “The Story of the Green House, Wallington” features a pair of Edwardian “ghost hunters,” a spiritualist “Sensitive,” and her mother who never travels anywhere without her own complete tea service.

Our cast features Jonathan Brandt (Puss in Boots a la Mode), Kait Feeney (A Quiet Place: Day One, The Fall of Orfeo), Jason Greenwood (Inheritance, Monster Awakens), Steff Knappe (Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses), Clive Marlowe (The Mousetrap), and Jane Wing (2024 VOX Award Winner).

A Suffocating Choking Feeling is a razor-sharp, satirical deep-dive into the warped world of Insta-“truth”, where fact and fiction blur and what wins is having a story worth telling.
