THIS EVENT HAS PASSED

THE GLASS WILL SHATTER

Presented by Althea Theatre

Rebecca still has nightmares about Amina and the unnerving events that unfolded in her classroom. Or is it Amina that still has nightmares?

Through a series of gripping flashbacks, an irreversible sequence of choices lead to an unexpected end, changing the course of both of their lives.

The world premiere of The Glass Will Shatter interrogates faith, belonging and polarisation within the school system – and the consequences of Prevent Policy on the quality of education in the UK today.

This thrilling and powerful new work is written by Joe Marsh (Playwright on attachment at the Finborough Theatre) and directed by Lilac Yosiphon (JMK finalist 2019, Trainee Director with Graeae).

The performance includes creative captioning and will be followed by a post-show Q&A.

Althea Theatre is an award-winning international ensemble made of British and non-British actors and theatre makers based in London, nominated for an Off West End Award for Best Ensemble in 2017. By exploring national and international viewpoints, the company seeks to challenge issues prevalent in society today. Previous shows have toured around the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

Praise for Althea Theatre:

“A must-see production that really gets to the heart of what it means to be human.” LoveLondonLoveCulture

“Brave and pioneering.” North West End
