EAST OF MEON

PRESENTED BY KATI WHITAKER
Warm up a winter afternoon with East Of Meon’s relaxing jazz and infectious Latin vibes

The East of Meon jazz quartet presents a cool sophisticated afternoon of modern and jazz standards with a Latin tinge.

Enjoy East of Meon’s individual take on numbers by Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Kenny Garrett, Courtney Pine and Wayne Shorter as well as a few classics and the band’s own compositions.

East of Meon was founded 4 years ago by sax player Kati Whitaker whose previous bands include the highly successful SoulFunks and Cuban ensemble Los Domingos. Her right-hand man is Marcus Hill, a veteran keyboard player who has worked with greats such as Ex. James Brown trumpet player Haji Akbar, Loose Tubes and Freak Power trombonist Ashley Slater and legendary Afro-American jazz drummer Clifford Jarvis. Conga player Nigel Hosking is Cuban percussion aficionado and bass player David Theriault brings to the mix many years of session playing in his native Canada. Both Kati and Marcus hope to premiere some of their own work at Omnibus Theatre.

This performance will take place with a live audience at Omnibus Theatre.

We are so excited to welcome you back through our doors.
