Engine Room is Omnibus Theatre’s regular scratch programme, giving theatre makers and artists the opportunity to develop and test up to 20-minutes of work in development. They usually take place once a month and each one features three brilliant theatre makers.

For each Engine Room artist/company we offer:

  • A 20 minute slot in our Studio Theatre
  • Up to three days of free rehearsal space
  • Dramaturgical support
  • Technical assistance
  • Meaningful audience feedback

Engine Room is part of our commitment to supporting artists and theatre makers, championing new voices and challenging perceptions. Artists that have previously presented work include; Nouveau Riché, Vera Chok, The Queer House, Opia Collective, Cocoa Butter Club and Playing On.

Please note that due to the current closure of our building we have made the decision to extend the deadline for submissions for our Summer Engine Room dates. The new deadline will be Wednesday 15th April, 6pm.

New dates will be confirmed soon and communicated to all applicants.
