ALMIRO ANDRADE is a Black Queer Latinx actor, director, playwright, dramaturg, educationist and theatre translator. Their approach sees all stages of theatre-making as acts of translation and their practice champions the production of international pieces in the most diverse settings across the globe.

Lecturer in Contemporary Acting and Associate Lecturer in Dramaturgy and Performance for Film and Television at UAL, their latest works include: the R&D project for the first English translation of Namibia, Não! by Aldri Anunciação in partnership with King’s College London and Soho Theatre; The Trial – from iconic 800-page Jorge Amado’s novel Tieta to a breaking-form theatre event as dramaturg and assistant director to Franko Figueiredo from StoneCrabs Theatre; a gender-bending adaptation of The Blind One and The Mad One by Cláudia Barral (IntiPress) produced by Foreign Affairs Theatre; the translation of Brazilian canonical playwright Nelson Rodrigues: Selected Plays (Bloomsbury/Oberon); dramaturgy and translation at Royal Court’s production of Black Horses Are Massive from the Brazilian playwright Barbara Esmenia Rae.

Gaël is an Amazon-born award-winning theatre & filmmaker who explores themes of identity, migration and environmental issues. In theatre, she brought visibility to the stories of underrepresented women with the shows Frida Kahlo: Viva La Vida! (OffComm award & Argus Angel award for Artistic Excellence), Camille Claudel (Prêmios Metro & ACPT nominations in Mexico) and The Other (Three Weeks Editor’s Choice award & Amnesty International Freedom of Expression runner up). She has been commissioned by the British Council, The Young Vic Theatre and King’s College and was an associate artist with LIFT Festival in 2022. Recently, her work has been presented at the Southbank Centre, Leicester Literary Festival, The Lowry, Birmingham Rep and Chicago Physical Festival. Rafael Cristiano is a playwright and actor who wrote the stage plays O Pancadão! O baile segue in partnership with Núcleo Pele de Teatro, Eu, Atlântica with the collective OjuOju , Faraó Tropical as part of CCSP’s 8th Mostra de Dramaturgias em Pequenos Formatos Cênicos, in 2022, and Boys with Group II. Texts published are Obra Branca by the Teatro da Universidade de São Paulo, Comum and Lambida na scar – A Ball erótica de Quem está aqui both published in collections of dramaturgies. Jonathan Simkins is the translator of El Creacionismo by Vicente Huidobro, and The Treasure of the Llanganates, a play by Paúl Puma. His translations of César Dávila Andrade have appeared in Bennington Review, Chicago Review, Los Angeles Review, Modern Poetry in Translation, and others. His fiction has appeared in Bristol Noir, Close To The Bone, and Grim & Gilded.

A recipient of national prizes in Ecuador, Paúl Puma is a poet, playwright, and literary critic. He received his PhD in Philosophy and Arts from the University of Alicante. He is the editorial director of PUMAEDITORES, publisher of more than a dozen works of literature and science. His more than twenty published books include works of poetry, short fiction, theatre, literary criticism, and philosophy. He is the author of thirty-plus academic articles available in Google Scholar.
