LIFE DRAWING
SELECTED THURSDAYS
Our life drawing classes are suitable for all artistic abilities and everyone is welcome, especially beginners.
The class combines short poses and longer poses with our instructor giving you directions on drawing methods that will help each artist build their technique from drawing to drawing.
We host a different life model each week, we announce each life model on our Instagram page @redartclub_ each Monday for the coming week.
LINO PRINTING
Selected Saturdays each month Sept-Dec
2-5pm (£25)
Our lino workshops include an introduction to lino printing, etching your own lino stamp and printing your stamp onto paper.
For this session we will be drawing from still life and transferring your artwork onto a lino block. You’ll leave with your own unique lino block stamp with prints of your stamp on cartridge paper.
You’ll also be able to reuse your lino block stamp after the class. It can be used to stamp T-shirts, tote bags, notebooks, gift cards- anything that has a thick surface so that the ink stays in place and doesn’t transfer through.
We will also give you aftercare instructions with links to all the materials that you’ll need to continue creating your own lino prints outside of our classes
SCULPTURE
Saturday 28 Oct
Saturday 4 Nov
2-6:30pm (£30)
You will be taught the basics of sculpture, starting off with life drawing and building clay onto a wire armature, moving onto detailing your sculpture and finishing off with smoothing your sculpture.
We’ll be sculpting a mini figurine of a nude model with special instruction from our sculpture instructor, Adam (he/him). Your finished sculpture will fit onto a wooden board that is 15cm x 15cm.
We also provide extensive aftercare instructions which will help you dry and preserve your sculpture in the best way possible.
🥂 There is a 10% discount at the bar for all of our artists who take part in our classes🥂 All you have to do to claim your discount is to show one of your drawings from your class to the bartender 🎨
Who are we? Red Art Club was founded in April 2022 by a small group of socialist artists from London. We create a space for absolutely anyone to explore and develop their artistic practice. Our classes are priced below the threshold of any other art class in London while still giving access to professional instructors and the best art materials. We also exclusively host our classes in arts institutions to help contribute to building the art community around London. London is a lonely place and being an artist can be even lonelier, Red Art Club was set up to create a community that empowers each other to create beautiful art and a more beautiful, friendly, inclusive, welcoming future for society. Alongside our life drawing, sculpture and lino printing classes, we have partnered with the London Lonely Girls Club and we also have a running partnership with the Thursday dating app running life drawing speed dating classes. Follow us on Instagram @redartclub_ to keep up to date with our upcoming classes, we also anticipate on starting art gallery meet ups for anyone who doesn’t have someone to go to an art gallery with.
