6 Sept: Redefining Asian

The opening panel will interrogate, examine and explore the word ‘Asian’. Panelists will consist of South and East / Southeast Asian theatre practitioners and academics to spark conversations on updating this terminology and building solidarity across all Asian communities without ignoring the diversity and specificity of their differences.

The sequel to last year’s critically acclaimed new-writing event created in response to the Covid related surge in anti-Asian race hate (The Guardian ‘Hottest Front Room Seat’) – this time live as well as twitch-streamed by NanoKim (“Gloriously celebrates difference and its power.” Lyn Gardner)

6 Dec: Asian Is The New Comedy and Rock n’ Roll

Ease into the festive season with Moongate and Omnibus as we showcase a fine rocking evening of Asian stand up comedians and musicians in a relaxed gig setting. Featuring the one and only Ken Cheng, the hilarious Yuriko Kotani, fantastic singer-songwriter Yau and Asian alt-folk Wondermare.
