ENGINE ROOM

PRESENTED BY OMNIBUS THEATRE
Four dynamic theatre makers present work for the very first time in front of a live (IRL!) audience.

Our regular scratch programme, where dynamic and talented theatre makers present daring, new work in the first stages of development.

Engine Room puts you, the audience, at the heart of the creative process. Following the sharing you will be asked to complete a feedback form, with your comments directly influencing the next development of the pieces. Give feedback, offer ideas and discover the next generation of theatre before anyone else.

Artists that have previously presented work include; Nouveau Riché, Vera Chok, The Queer House, Opia Collective, Cocoa Butter Club and Playing On.

Check out the full line-up below.

This performance will take place with a live audience at Omnibus Theatre.

We are so excited to welcome you back through our doors.

We are committed to safely staging a small, but perfectly formed, programme of work while we are able. We understand that booking tickets for live events right now feels like a bit of a gamble.

We want to assure you that should Government guidance change before your event, prohibiting it from taking place, we will contact you and offer an immediate refund.

To keep you safe, we have new measures in line with Covid-19 guidelines. Please check out our Covid-19 Safety FAQs for full information on what to expect and how to prepare for your visit.

How To Build [The City].

by state of the [art]

How To Build [The City]. is a project developed by state of the [art] involving artists and theatre-makers from a variety of different creative experiences. We want to undertake the journey to build a new, inclusive, diverse society during and after the pandemic.

Starting from the myth of Gilgamesh, the artists are exploring ways to develop new formats for a renovated audience experience. We will be revisiting and transforming the myth, specifically looking at innovative practices to engage audiences in real-time. How can we support audience engagement with regards to the mental effects of lockdown and its impact on human interaction and communication?

by Joyce Greenaway

“Is this it? I know you said your brain was a ‘bottomless pit of nothingness’ but this…”

Walking the tightrope between the ordinary and the extraordinary, this witty and moving new play explores the complexities of relationships and the desire to be seen and understood.

Thanks to further Engine Room support, award-winning Northern Irish writer, Joyce Greenaway, and Director, Matthew Forbes (NT War Horse Assoc. Dir.
